Where is Bimini located?

Bimini is located less than 50 miles east of Miami on the edge of the Great Bahama Bank.

How do I get to Bimini?

Continental Airlines and Bimini Island Air all service the island of Bimini. Because the island is so close to Florida, many of our guests arrive by their own boat. Please see the Getting Here page for more details. For more information click here.

Is your marina open to the public even if I don’t book a room?

Yes, our marina is public and there is no room requirement in order to book a slip.

Can I get internet access while on the island?

Yes, Bimini Sands offers guests free WiFi service.

Do US citizens need a passport?

Generally speaking yes, as the Bahamas is a sovereign nation. In addition, US regulations now require US citizens to have a valid passport for re-entry into the United States.

Are the rooms furnished?

Yes, all our units are fully furnished 1 or 2 bedroom condominiums. They have their own washer and dryers, full kitchens and living rooms.

How close is the beach?

Bimini Sands Resort & Marina is located directly on the beach overlooking some of the prettiest water in the Bahamas. All our condominiums either have direct ocean views or views of the marina. Every room is within steps of the beach.

What about restaurants and bars?

We have a number of restaurants and bars for you to enjoy onsite. We have 2 restaurants (the Beach Club Restaurant and the Petite Conch) in addition to Mackey’s Sand Bar and the poolside Tiki Bar.

How long does it take to get to Bimini?

Flights take only about 15 minutes from Florida. By private boats the length of time to get to Bimini depends on the speed of your boat and sea conditions. Fast boats can make the 45 mile run from Miami in less than 2 hours, sailboats obviously take quite a bit longer!

What is there to do on Bimini?

The choice is up to you. Fishing, diving, snorkeling, swimming with dolphins, kayaking and much more - click here for the Activities Center which will be glad to assist you in planning things to do on the island.
